The dealership found that there was a height difference with the suspension level,I noticed it too when I took some measurements but Arden told me 0,5 cm could be tolerate, they found 0,7 cm ,they said after readjusting the suspension it drives better but still there is a front right noise which I thaught was coming from the steering column that need to be fixed. The third time i brought it in to the new shop and we still finding problems to be resolve.....
so the height suspension was not similar, a loose triangle ,a defect rack and pinion,a cardan (not sure if it was needed but changed?) and still something need to be done....for a 2 years old xj....30 000 miles.

stabilizing bar need to be change too....wednesday...
all should be more than well, soon.

If a Moderator could change the title for me to " Handling Problems " ,I will appreciate his help and understanding about this thread. Finally I think in advance that Jaguar France has done a lot for me and they did it very well. They called me every 3 days to keep me update and took care of everything.Next car will be an xkr or a newer xj 2009?...

Default part question

Thanks to the moderator for his help, again it is appreciated...

I have a question:

I got the vehicule back,it is much better now but still,I have a noise on the steering column, above the cardan joint, there is a part that is made to demultiplicate shocks (with 6 metal branches ),I did changed this part twice on other jags, one time on a xj8 1999 and another time on a xjr 2004 ( so a x350) ,and it was more linear after this change.

here is my question, cause the dealership told me this time ,I can not get the part itself alone, but I need to get a new steering column in order to change it,I am unsure if he is right or not...it will mean that the x358 steering column is different from a 2004 xjr and I have doubts.

Is there someone who could help me out and let me know if yes or no we can update this part without changing the whole steering column. In advance thank you! (on a x 358 xj8 dec 2007 lift 2008.)

Default Bad Service

Wow, I guess I will have to bite my tongue if I have problems with the dealer. I'm sure it won't get like that!

Let say that the place I used to go is too busy and the next appointment was like 35 days to wait and when they are busy the last they want to see is you with your warranty specially is there is lot of job to be done,I contacted another place, they do not know me,and accepted to take it 3 times to fix it and check it out.Nobody knew there will be so much to do and in 30-40 they took the car 3 times already, which is good.
Now let me tell you that finally I think they are good at Jaguar France,at least the way they handle me was very good cause I am not easy, sure it will have been better in the US and again I can't compare cause in the US my cars were not under warranty but when you pay they are good at looking at everything in one time. How they listen to you at Jaguar france and agree with all and they are friendly and called me back very often,I think it is exactly what I was looking for,I do not regret to own this 8th Xj,I am even happy, cause they are good and inteligent.I guess if we have love and passion for these cars we should have tolerance.

I do have the steering column to be changed or the small part listed above and a noise in the front ( it is probably brake related) ,but I am just looking to get a decent handling.
