Default Headrest monitors X350

Hi guys..... just acquired a very pristine 2006 X350 sovereign with all the bells and whistles.
At the moment everything seems in working order with the exception of both the headrest monitors.
There is power to the DVD unit in the boot and it appears in working order but the screens are blank.

Could it be something as simple as a blown fuse or is there a more ominous/ expensive issue going on here...
Appreciate any suggestions.

It's possible your issue is user error like mine was!
Your goal should be to use the "Left" and 'Right" buttons along with "video select" to get the console display to say DVD at the left and right ends. If you can get to that and your still have no issue then it may be a hardware or fuse issue.

I have done all that but mot a flicker from either screen. I have no idea if power is getting to them as there does not appear to be an on/off light on the actual screen unit.

Hmph. If you've done that and pushed the power button on the actual screen (just to be sure, had to say it), that's all I got.

Keep us posted?

According to the Workshop Manual,

Fuse No 20: 5 Amp protects in the Front Power Distribution Box protects Rear entertainment control panel (accessory supply)
Fuse No 30: 10 Amp fuse in the Front Power Distribution Box protects Rear entertainment control panel/AV selector/DVD player (battery supply)

If these are OK, there are lengthy pinpoint tests detailed for troubleshooting no display on either rear screen.

You should be able to get some screen action even with no disc , TV etc. Power the screen on then the other button should cycle through the brightness setting etc so you should then know if the screens are dead or not. I have had to disconnect the battery for a similar problem.

Thanks for your reply.

I've sent the Video System Diagnosis & Testing section from the X350 Workshop Manual to the email address you have registered with the forum. Look out for an email from jaguarforums@outlook.com

That'll give you something to read on Friday night.

So just a quick update. I tried all the 'easy fixes' over the weekend, checked the fuses , disconnected the battery etc but still no joy.
I have found a specialist ICE shop just a couple of kilometres from my office here in central Dublin which will be the next port of call. Thanks for all the feedback and will keep in touch on the issue.

Just drop "Pinpoint Tests" into the discussion and they'll know not to feed you any flannel.

Funny, I had my XJR for almost 2 years now and never tested the ICE system. Did so - thankfully, all is good. At first couldn't get the right headrest monitor to respond - but, got it!
