Default Headrest screen

I currently have a 2004 X-type that will be going into the shop today for some repairs but I love my jag (6 months owner).

I will be 50 next May and after looking at other jag for sale, my goal is to buy a 2008 XJ. I don't mind a v8, vanden plas or any of the others but I do want the screens in the headrest and was wondering which model had them in. I have looked online and there doesn't deem to be a distinction between the models.

Thanks

I believe it was a high cost option across the model line. I know I normally see it on VDP, Super and XJR's more than base models. I am sure someone here with more knowledge will chime in but I think you will have to go more upscale to get that option and since its rather rare expect to pay full market price.

Hope this helps.

VDP & up. It wouldn't be in base or XJ-L models (done VDPs may not)

I'm pretty sure John Fox is correct on that. When I was shopping for my XJ those were the only models that had the rear screens.

According to the brochure, rear screens with DVD player, are an optional extra on base models right through to the Super V8. I have seen quite a few base models with screens on ebay.

That's £3,000 extra the original buyer of mine paid for them!

Does anyone know if it is pre-wired? I have found that some of the option are pre-wired, but haven't checked on this one yet.

Trust me, I understand! I come from a Ford background... so I know options are usually pre-wired depending on model... but there are always exceptions to the rule. I will probably do more digging down the road when I have time, but my presumption is that you are right.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to get my 2004 x-type into tip top shape and use it for a trade or sell it private and in may 2016 I will be shopping for a XJ8 VP or super V8 with all the gadgets I can find.
Just got my x-type back and didn't realize how much I missed it. Had to drive my wife's mini and although lots of fun to drive, my bones appreciated the jag.
