Default Heated wheel on 06 SV8P

Anyone know if the conker leather wheel is heated on an 06 SV8P?

Hi Nautivan
My SV8 has the heated wheel. I understand that the only heated wheel is the one with walnut figuring that is wood all the way round. The ones with leather on the rim are not heated. I think the heating elements would degrade the leather on the rim.

Both the wood and leather portions of the steering wheel rim on my 05 SV8 are heated.

Ah, yes, looking at Jaguar classic parts, it's not as simple as I thought. There are so many options, the only way is to search through the list to find your own variety. I think that the full leather ones I found all had "less heated steering wheel" in the description, but you are right, there are heated half-leather wheels.

Thanks. I’d love to hear from an 06 black cherry/conker super port owner on this. There is conflicting info online and I haven’t seen mine in person yet to confirm. Dealers listing states heated wheel but I’ve seen the “delete heated wheel with Elm veneers” on the 08 & 09 info. So IDK

The full leather steering whell of the SV8 Portfolio 2006 (black cherry/conker) is not heated.
At least on mine

Mmm thanks, that’s what I suspected, dealers listing is incorrect. So my next question, do you miss it?

Thats incorrect. I have the steering wheel with a wood and leather combination and it is heated.

Default Thinking about the wheel…

It occurs to me that the long horizontal grain satin veneers are not really suited for wrapping on a wheel the way burl veneer is … maybe that’s why it’s all leather? Of course that doesn’t explain why all leather isn’t heated …

Never had a heating steering wheel, so don't miss it.
But weather is not arctic in Belgium

My 05 XJR is leather / wood, and is heated. that said, it is a might too hot for my taste, I've pulled the fuse. i love the heated seats, but the heated steering wheel as well is inappropriate in Texas. There may be a couple of days a year that it would be nice, but other than that it is a nuisance.

Default 86 degrees surface temp

The heated wheels are calibrated to 86 degree surface temp I think I read. I’ve never had a heated wheel so I probably won’t miss what I never had. I’ll just get a new pair of driving gloves!
