You could scan the Jag for codes.

My son has a VW Passat with noises in the dash

and when he scanned it it came up with a code for a faulty
blend door motor!
Thank you Meiron1; This weekend I am going to try to look in the diagnostic mode of my Jag enabled code reader to see if I can find something in the Climate Control that is 'out of sorts' but insufficient to cause a DTC?
