Help with Airbag Error Code B2295-29
Dear Forumisters,
I'm at my wits end trying to solve the airbag light in the dashboard instrument cluster. The light comes on after blinking for a number of times and stays permanently on until I switch off the engine.
I took it to my local Jag dealership who told me that I needed to replace the Airbag Cancellation Switch. They replaced the part and tested the car afterwards and confirmed that they solved the problem (See attached picture).
I managed to drive the car for a short distance home without any drama and parked the car overnight! Lo and behold, after returning from a posh restaurant as part of my weekly morning treat to my darling wife to a sumptuous breakfast meal, the light came on! It spoiled my good mood and after dropping her off, I immediately returned to the dealership to claim a refund for the wrong diagnosis. They ran a DTC test and the error code reported was "B2295-29 ARM Driver's air bag circuit (side impact) - open circuit local mirror".
The dealership wanted to fleece more money from me by claiming that there's another problem with either the driver or passenger airbags and I must now order those airbags to solve this new problem! I told them where to get off, and even asked them to give me what they were smoking as it must be something very potent, resulting in them suffering from delusions of grandeur!
Nevertheless, I was told to return later in the week for removal of the new part and a refund. In the meantime, I have an irritating light and an unsolved problem at hand.
Has anyone come across this error code and what did they do to solve the problem? Please help if you can.
Yours in desperation,
Seth
