NGK is the one I use. The 6 dollar something a piece one with about 50-60k miles life for perfomance or you can go for the 12 dollar something a piece unit for 100k miles life depending your preference. I use the 6 dollar something unit for perfomance reason.

NGK Iridium plugs (the 100k mile ones) are what I used.

Also used the NGK iridium. Challenge is the left rear plug. I used a couple of different length sockets. I think that one plug took as much time as the other 7.

dsetter, you ain't kidding about that last plug. I finally caved and took it to the dealer for the last one. Could not figure out how to get the coil-on plug out.

I shudder when I remember. I was changing the plugs at 100,000 miles. The coil pack was a problem as was the plug. Once out only persistence would get it back in by holding everything the right way. I do not know who or when the plugs were previously changed as that last plug was a different type to the other 7. So i know at least 7 were changed by either PO or a lazy dealer.

I know autolite isnt ngk but why do u say stay away from.them? Autolite is a "ford thing" and the 4.2 is a ford influenced motor is it not?
