Hello all! I have been working to adjust the dealer configurable settings on my 2004 XJ VDP, using SDD v138 and a Mongoose clone cable. So far, it has been a pleasant experience, as I have been able to change a few settings to enable features that I wanted. For example, by choosing one of the global open settings, now I can not only open all the windows in the car with the key remote, I can close them as well. Very handy! I have some questions, though.

- First, some of the names of the settings are not clear, i.e. I don't know what they mean. I'd appreciate help.

- Second, while I have the Control Module Programming - WDS Configurable Features document (attached), it would appear that the choices available in SDD v138 are not all the same as shown in the charts of the document. Anyone else experiencing that?

Here are the codes that the document says are available for changing in the X350 series:

- Passive arm enable - seems that would have the alarm system enable regardless of whether the vehicle is locked with the key fob after a period of time

- Inclination sensor enable - ???

- Audible chirp on second button press - horn beeps after locking and key fob pressed a second time

- Battery backed sounder enable - ???

- Turn signal flash on error - ???

- Error warning enable - ???

- Superlocking chirp enable - ???

- Horn operation during alarm enable - (not present in SDD v138)

- Sounder operation during alarm enable - (not present in SDD v138)

- Automatic relocking enable - ???

- Turn signal flash during alarm enable - (appears not present in SDD v138)

- Remote memory recall - I think that is when seat/mirror settings are linked to the key fob

- Remote locking enable - ?? Does this shut off the key fob?

- Remote panic alarm enable - seems straightforward

- Remote luggage compartment release enable - (I don't see it in SDD v138)

- Remote headlamp convenience enable (also not seen in SDD v138)

- Drip wipe enable - the delayed wipe of the windscreen wipers

- Fold Flat mirror enable - straightforward meaning

- Automatic mirror fold - this is also configurable on the navigation screen

- Passenger mirror dip in reverse enable - I set this but it doesn't work

- Driver's mirror dip in reverse enable - works well!

- Remote global open enable - opens all windows and sunroof with key fob

- Global closing enable - very cool - closes all the windows and sunroof with key fob

- Daytime running lamps enabled - also can be set on navigation screen

- fuel economy units - not observed in SDD v138

- US or UK gallons - not observed in SDD v138

- Instrument pck display language - not observed in SDD v138

- 3 Audio settings to tell what equipment is fitted

- Safety belt minder configuration - ???

- Safety belt reminder - ??? does this shut off the warnings?


I'd appreciate any insights into working with these settings.
