Angry Help! Engine replacement thread!

Hey all I知 going to use this thread as I go and try to document what I can. Long story short is that my son got water in the engine and it hydro locked. We have a good used motor on the way so I知 start to get things ready. Reading the other threads here I got a good idea of what to do

2005 vdp. 4.2

currently stuck on step 1 of removing the exhaust. Everything thing seems stuck in place. Tried to remove the passenger side exhaust first. The nut must致e been seized because the stud came along with it. Trying to get the other side but the sensor is in the way.

Looks like I need to get some map gas and heat these things up and try to get it off. Next problem is since the engine is seized getting the trans off might be an adventure as well. Well any advice would be appreciated.

I’ll try the swivel socket. I put a swivel on my 15mm deep impact socket 1/2 but it wasn’t as snug as I’d like it and do t want to strip it.

Alright update time. So i couldnt get the cats off. Tried everything so i ended up cutting them off. Was probably a good decision since a LOT of water came out of them. Now im on to the transmission. Started draining it and the oil looked ok. No water from what I could tell. Still might have a trans shop go through it just in case but we'll see. Also its really frustrating that on youtube you can just about find any info on any other car but this one is a big nope. I have the directions but even then its like ikea directions. Looks easy but is it?
