So, I had a code for a o2 sensor on bank two, replaced engine light off. This car as no leaks, well atleast I dont see anything on garage floor where I park it.

Since I bought the car, when you really give it some gas, there is a sulfur/ phosphorus/smell inside the car. I figured it had something to do with the o2 sensor. Changed it, and it still does it. DOES NOT idle ruff and seems to run like a champ otherwise...


Any ideas?

I am thinking cats but after doing some research around here I am not 100% on it.

 

I have the same problem with my 07 XJ8. Every time I stomp it and run it up to 80-90 mph the smell comes in the cabin. If I have the AC running I don't get the smell.

I suspect the AC is pressurizing the cabin and the exhaust can't get in. I've had the problem since I bought the car almost 2 1/2 years ago. My car runs fine, plenty of power and great gas mileage. I don't detect any odors when driving "normally".

This has been reported on the XK forums, as perhaps an opening somewhere letting exhaust into to car.

Hurmmmm...

My problem is when I DO have the ac on and give it full pedal it fills the cabin with the smell. I need to see what happens with the ac off..
