Nice pics, is it Rudesheim?

Shame indeed, you should be up at dawn every day of your holiday to wash the car.

The car was not as clean as I would have liked on the vehicle ferry from Bingen to Rudesheim, (yes, Norri, you are right about the destination of the ferry !). This was because the journey out was mostly in rain, and then, in the afternoon of a day out to the Mosel valley, there were thunderstorms at Berkastel-Kues including hail. I realised how lucky I had been, when passing through a village, we saw that a house roof had been smashed in, and a car had front and rear screens smashed by giant hailstones. A farmer showed us a hailstone bigger than a golf ball with the words "alles kaput" !!

My car could have been in the middle of that, certainly we had hail where we were, but 'normal' size ! Aftermath of the storms was dirt washed down onto the road and leaves and other detritus everywhere. I finally managed to find a good car-wash a few days later.
