Default Hard to believe

I find it hard to believe with all the jaguar onwers on here that no one has had this problem before. But I guess it could happen so right me up as the very first Jaguar xj8 milhunkcj who's hood/bonnet won't open. At least I'm #1 lol well thanks anyway. Have a great day

I've never heard of it happening, but here is a video showing how to get the hood open without the cable working. Good luck.

try looking on the UK forum as well, it has been mentioned quite a few times, I have had it on my last X350 and also my current one as well, in both instances I called into my dealer and they sorted it out for me.
There is a cable that goes to one side release and then a link cable that goes to the other side I think, it sounds as if your link cable has either stretched or broken.
I will take a look at the above video as it may be helpful for the future.

Interesting video, on the XJ the grill assembly does not lift up with the bonnet, I think you need to remove the grill inserts to get in to the catches. I think there is an anti tamper plate you need to get out of the way first from memory.
