I am attempting to locate a good video removing the shroud under the radiator to gain access to the hood release [I need the correct term for this shroud] to diagnose the problem behind my hood not releasing when the hood latch is engaged; most likely I need to replace the hood release cable.

Hi WRKIETH
It seems to be called different names by different people, Front bumper underbody valance or front splash tray, It's not difficult to remove with about 8 fixings around the front edge, 2 or 3 inside each wheel arch ( can be accessed without removing the wheel) and 3 fixings to the main splash panel. I had mine off recently but can't remember if the fixings are allen or torx. Just make sure that they're all out as on my previous X350 the tray had been broken , presumably by rough treatment. If you have to renew any of them they're available on Ebay for about £15 for a bag full.
Good luck with the bonnet release.
