Hose clamps for upper radiator hoses
Hi all,
Getting ready to have the ECU flashed on my '07 project XJ8L. Recently installed a second-hand fusebox in the passenger foot well that was nicked from a low mileage donor. Hooked up the new ECU, connected the battery and voila! I've got power to what I suspect are all electrical systems. I've never seen an instrument panel with so many lights on it... Good news is, mileage is as expected at 90,245. So $600 for the car, $55 for the fuse box and it's looking good so far.
The more I'm looking into previous maintenance, the more I'm seeing and questioning how things were done. The dealer that has serviced the car since new had replaced the thermostat and housing on the car per their service records. What I'm curious about is the type of hose clamps that were used. The ones on the car are the serrated ones, the type with the oblong holes punched out to adjust for diameter. I'm curious if these are the correct clamps for the car? My concern is that the hose material is pushing through those oblong holes and if I'm going to sell the car, I want it to look and function as it should. I'm attaching some pictures so you can see what I'm on about and hopefully someone can post a picture showing theirs for comparison.
Thanks all!
