Default How to access the ASM from rear seats

hello,

I am trying to access the ASM through the rear passenger seats but I don't find a way to put the back seat down, I am pulling that string that is concealed in the seat but the back does not come down it is like stock or jammed.
Can anyone help please.

Thanks

On one X350 I had the same problem. I eventually succeeded in getting the seat back to come loose by simultaneously pulling/jerking on the strap and slapping/banging the upper part of the seat with the palm/fist of my other hand. If I recall correctly, the latching mechanism is directly above the strap and maybe four inches from the top of the seat back, so that's the general area to bang with your palm/fist.

There are two straps, one on the right lower edge of the seat back and one on the left. You may need to repeat this process with each straps, working back and forth, then try pulling both straps at the same time and lifting to help the back to come loose.

Cheers,

Don

I think what happens is that over time the seat cushion foam settles around the latching mechanism and prevents it from moving freely.

Cheers,

Don
