Your ball, your game I guess.

I now return you to the usual "my suspension is on the ground" thread.

In fairness now, he didn't let that in - I rather rudely inserted it! Apologies...

One of my all time favorite engines is the Northstar engibne. I've had 3 cars with Northstars & they are no joke.

Way back in the last century, I had my 99' Oldsmobile Auora with the authoban package (might be my favorite large car to date) up to 150mph on the PA Turnpike Northeast extension. It was nice.

Prior to that I had my 97' Deville Concurs up to 142 MPH it was a little more floatly than I liked but man what power. When the lease was up on that car I went to the Auora because it was more of a sporty ride at high speeds.

Topped out my 2000MY Suzuki Hayabusa a couple of times when I lived back home in Oz. Was too busy hanging on to pay too much attention to the speedo!

Also remember being briefly puzzled on my GSXR1000K6 when the shift light was flashing at 11k rpm and I couldn't shift up any more gears.... then I realised how quick I was going!

Well, that is only 88 miles per hour, lol: How fast did the DeLorean need to go to travel back in time in the movie Back to the Future

Ever...? 291km/h (180m/h) Last year in Germany friend of mine let me drive his 997 GT3 road car. I wanted to cross magic 300, but it was day time and too many cars on the highway... Honestly... nice, a bit of adrealine but... nothing special...
Driving new, high-tech cars is nice, very smooth but... boring...
Here there is photo at 252 km/h ( 156 m/h) taken easily with mobile phone while driving...

https://www.facebook.com/adampilc?re...type=3&theater

I will always remeber speed test of my first Porsche... It was '98 I was 21y/o and I purchased '89 944Turbo cabrio... 260 bhp, but it seemed to be a lot... It was July, 4:00 am almost sunrise... Poland, there was no hihgways then... Just national road, all the ruts from trucks, old car... I remember at 230 became difficult to control, was jumping on the top of ruts, I wanted more...! 250 without roof! For short while everything outside the car was blury, seems to not exist. Just for one second I was confused if its real or not... Nice experience, I wish I had it again...

I've got driving license for 19 years, already. Had many cars, but still love to drive fast... I don't mean to reach max speed for a while, it's about driving on long distance... It's nice feeling to drive the car you know very well, you know own, car and road limits and trying to drive fast, but with safety margin... Driving very risky gives too much emotions and you get tired, You must know when aderanaline keeps you focus and awake and not to go further...
One of results I remember was 722km (448m) from Chemnitz (D) to Amsterdam (NL) made in 4 h 43min ( including time for refuel) at summer night with avg. speed. 152 km/h (94m/h). Interesting, not very easy road partly throuh hills/mountains. Just one remark last 100 kms it's highway in NL with limit of 120 so I had to keep it under 160...
152 seems to be not much, but try to keep this average... Almost forgot... Car... Black Volvo station. ... '07 V70T5R.. I loved it!

Enough for the hood/bonnet sheet metal on a 911 to pop in. Pops out when you slow down.

Fast enough to know most speedo's top ends are liars. LOL wife's new Mazda CX5 will in no way do 160 MPH. I will say its 3 MPH slow at it's max vs GPS.

Clearly too fast when doing a full power stall in a 152 that turned into a spin at 3000ft agl. Figured out it's just impossible not to miss the planet, sometimes farmers silos are a bit too high, farmers truck license plate was clearly readable, and wings can bend at high enough G's. Landed at the closest field and did an eyeball check to verify that they didn't. It happened so fast I didn't have time to wet myself.

Still working on fastest.......

Keep em stories coming.

260km on the pin in my 93 Vanden, H rated tireson winding back roads of southern Ontario, made many a mustang owner cry. 285km on my old Rothmans Honda on the highway............I stopped riding street bikes after that. Cant drive fast in Canada anymore.......probably for the best

In 1992 at speed on open highway in boondocks Illinois, 165MPH Jag XJS HSE V-12 (modified). Most I could get in Series 2 XJ12 (stock) was 130MPH. My 03 MINI S (stock) hit limiter at 135MPH at Gateway International in St. Louis.
