How to make the subtle switch from BMW to jaguar...
A year ago I got my wife a BMW 750Li. Nice car. But then I got my XJR. Wow.
I would love to trade the 750 for a Super V8. Now, how can I convince my wife to let go of her beloved BMW?
She doesn't find the xjr as comfortable but she knows it's not apples to apples...

No doubt you've been given some really sound advice above, now, how about this?
Perhaps if a few "issues" were to surface with the BMW that might help?
Maybe a loose battery cable means she can't start the car and has to ask for your help, you run her to work while you try to get to the bottom of the problem.
Maybe something as simple as a recurring "flat" tyre that you can of course fairly easily remedy, but can still cause an issue if running short on time.
A few of these issues over a few weeks may get her thinking its time to get rid of the BM........lol

That's really funny JimC64. I would have never thought to trick my wife like that. But a good idea as a last resort.
I like the idea of trying to sell her an a Vanden Plas. Find a really clean one and show her how you could probably sell the BMW and get the Vanden Plas with money left over cause they are cheaper than a BMW of similar years. Then tell you wife she can go shopping with the leftover money.

It is nominally "her" car. She "loves" the BMW 750. Is it really fair ball to push her at a Jaguar? Really, at the heart of the matter the Jaguar is your personal preference as opposed to hers.
What she wants really ought to be paramount, all other factors being equal.

The issue she has with my XJR are the sport seats. She likes that her 750 rear seats recline, and it is the 750L, so the Super V8 would give similar leg room, and reclining seats. I need the Super V8, as I LOVE the XJR and wouldn't be content without the SC.
Plums, don't doubt that I know how to keep my wife's needs as a priority, but I do the work on the cars and prefer the Jag. Just saying.

The queen doesn't have an XJR
My whole point of this thread is that I find the 750Li stressful. Every time it hiccups I have to worry about the repair. I spend time on the BMW forum and it's full of major repair issues. Here, it's simple stuff usually, and the jag is so nice to work on. I think the Super V8 would do everything the BMW does (minus air conditioned seats front and back) and with more style.
