No, sorry Joe. I was looking at the eBay ad and it had that odd comment on it. XJ8 04-05 Temperature; AC, w/o evaporator mounted. I have no idea what that means because you can't have A/C without an evaporator, but it appears to be a qualifier for the part fitment. Perhaps just ignore me on this. It appears to be the only number for a RCCM.

Haven't resolved it yet. I've been trying to figure out how to access the dealer options I SDD. I believe I need a code of some sort. Do you have any Idea?

Have you read through ADMIN TSB 1-186??
WDS is basically the same as IDS so the instructions should relate. As a matter of fact when IDS 42 was released, it was in conjunction with WDS 42. (same program on different machines)

What Vehicle Interface are you using? The original VID block for your car has NO TELEMATICS.
At the very least you will need to change things and enter things manually when it asks if these features are correct.

good luck with your project

Thanks motorman,
I'll read through this TSB and see if I can figure things out. I'll report back afterwards. Does anyone know if it's possible to access the dealer options without having a Topix subscription, if so do I need a password?

You stated that you have IDS.
The Vehicle Config tab (car with the wrench symbol) has the settings menu you are looking for.

Are you using SDD or IDS?? What version??

For as old as the car is, you should not need SDD131.
The earliest version you can use is SDD125 if you are using an interface like a Mongoose.
A VCM is needed for IDS 42 onward to (and including) SDD124.

A VCM is preferred for SDD125 onward but other interfaces can be used.
You might want to use SDD125.03 so you can go DIRECTLY to IDS instead of using SDD to default to Legacy IDS for your application.

I think SDD 125 is good to about 2011 cars.

You might want to read this or contact m1keh for guidance using a NON-VCM interface.

Thanks, this is the type of info I've been looking for. I'm using A Mongoose cable. I'll obtain SDD125 and see if that works. Thanks again.

Finally got it up and running, thanks to the wire harness supplied by jostaffs, over on the jaguarforum.com, and the help of motorman and Sean W on this forum. Turns out, the XJR's CCM does not need to be replaced, just tell the car that is has navigation. U wish I had taken pictures of the process, however, I'm willing to review the process I used and provides the details to anyone interested. I know that this SAT/Nav system is outdated, but I like the way it looks in my car. Thanks so much..

The VID block is confusing but once you understand how to update when the car is connected, you can change things.

I want to change my climate panel into touchscreen and everything works fine but no response for climate control.
So if I dont have WDS and IDS, can I just buy a climate control module that was from a XJ8 with touchscreen and replace to mine CCM?

If your car was a non-touchscreen originally, you will need a wire harness like the one I got from a, Jaguarforum.com, member ,jostaffs, a sat/nav module for the trunk and a way to program the modules.
