How to program Climate Control Module
#41
Yes my car came without screen and I got the harness, navigation control module and screen.
After I installed them, they works fine but not the climate control. I can not control my climate. I think it’s just happened like you before.
so if I replaced the climate control module that is under the dashboard into a ccm that was from a xj8 that equips Nav, will it work?

You can use SDD to program any module in the car, I made a thread a while ago about my climate control system bugging up and acting like it was a system from an X-type. I chose MANUAL reconfigure of either the amplifier or some other module (i forget). Selecting Manual allows you to select vehicle specific features which then writes into the ECM's VID memory.

So i have to get the SDD system from ebay. But how that works? I mean all I need is the software, latop and OBD2 cable that connect the latop to my car?

You need an XP based laptop (or one that runs XP on virtual machine) you need a compatible OBD2 cable (Mongoose or equivalent) and the SDD software.
As long as you know your way around a computers its rather straight forward. The software itself is dimwitted and slow; and will freeze up occasionally.
If you are doing any ECM/TCM reflashes, its usually recommended you source a HIGH QUALITY power supply such as ones used with RF radios, as they produce stable voltage with little noise

Have a look at the above to begin with.
I suggest you do NOT try any reprogramming until you have done a lot of research and then only with an approved battery support product as already mentioned.

Finally got it up and running, thanks to the wire harness supplied by jostaffs, over on the jaguarforum.com, and the help of motorman and Sean W on this forum. Turns out, the XJR's CCM does not need to be replaced, just tell the car that is has navigation. U wish I had taken pictures of the process, however, I'm willing to review the process I used and provides the details to anyone interested. I know that this SAT/Nav system is outdated, but I like the way it looks in my car. Thanks so much..

That being so you have to follow the directions that come with the after market unit.
I must admit I do not understand your objective?

Since I started with a non-navi system, all I had to do was install additional wiring and program. Like jackra_1 stated, you should follow the aftermarket instructions, since you won't be using the fiber optics.

I'm trying to install a button style control panel for climate control, then after market stero...need wiring info for panel

Ok now I understand.
You need the wiring diagram for that type of head unit and I am not sure what model that is.
For starters have a look at this: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...others-101568/
