I dont know what is going on with suspension
I have a 2008 XJ Vanden Plas (x358) and my right front air shock decided to go out, so I decided to replace all 4 with Arnott replacement parts.
all 4 put on, and then about 2 weeks later, the right rear dropped down and I received an error that it was too low to drive, the shock was leaking, so Arnott replaced it.
I just put the new right rear on and it appeared to be working fine until 6 hours later when I wen to leave work.
The right rear was sitting about 2 inches lower than the left rear. After starting the car, it came up an inch so I was able to drive home.
After getting home, I measured the distance. the right rear is now sitting 1 inch lower than the left front or left rear and the right front is sitting about 1/2 in lower than the left side.
the left side appears to be sitting correctly, and the right side is the problem. I am going to check them again in the morning to see if it drops down again on the right side. My vin is H20577 if that matters.
What could it be? I don't think its the shocks since they are new, maybe a Height Sensor or Ride sensor?
Any information would be helpful!
Thanks

Hi tkeeling,
I wonder if you simply need to recalibrate the air suspension after replacing just the right rear shock? The air bladder in the new shock may be responding differently to the previously-calibrated air pressure for that corner. Due to the stiffness of the X350 aluminum monocoque, when one corner sags it pulls down the other corner on the same side, which may explain the front corner being low to a lesser degree.
A dealer or good independent Jag specialist can do the recalibration in about half an hour, or you can do it yourself with a Mongoose cable and JLR SDD software. Cambo351's post on lowering the air suspension provides the basic info on calibrating and leveling the system with SDD:

Please keep us informed.
