What do you mean? Isn't that just a Jaguar Super V8 Portfolio? They are very rare XJs, but they do exist! I think only a few hundred were made each year starting in 2006.

I could not open the referred to link. But if u are talking about the above mentioned 2006 Super V8 "Portfolio Edition" I actually own one in black cherry metallic. 145 were produced in 2006. Rare and nice

Could u repost that link?

I am not an expert on Portfolios, but those may be factory wheels. I believe there were several options for wheels.

Certainly that interior and the side vents are stock.

IDK those are Ashanti wheels, so this car was only produced in 2006?

Can those fenders/side vent be retro'd on a 2007?

school me

Hi All, the first post in this thread, only had a link to a car for sale, no accompanying text or anything. Therefore it was removed.

Now the thread looks to be back on track

That is one gorgeous looking Jaguar, no idea about retro fitting the vents, unless they are just for show I would guess that there must be some ductwork behind them.

I may be wrong, but I can't see Jaguar just cutting a hole in the fender/wing and bolting them on. Imagine driving along in the rain.

Perhaps, parnelli can shed some light.

Why not just paint the vents, or whatever they are, the body color? A Jag salesman here in Orlando said some customers did that as a "condition of sale".

I have an 08 Super V8, with Chrome side vents. They are just cosmetic. How do I know? Because on the 50 mile drive home after buying the car one fell off! The side panel is recessed slightly for the vent and has holes that the side (power) vents clip into, so retrofit would not be too easy on a pre 08 XJ.

As for the color, all 08 XJs and later have the side power vents, usually body color except for super V8s and I think XJRs which are chrome. Hence if you have an 08 XJ you can change the vents to match the body color, chrome or possible even retrofit the portfolios vents...but this may not be possible because these are 2 piece as opposed to one piece. The things you learn when parts fall off your car eh!

By the way, they are about $110 each from the dealer

Cheers

Thos side vents are one thing I do NOT like about the new Jaguar style; they do nothing at all, and don't even look nice.

However, I do like the chrome grill and its mesh panels, and the rear chrome numberplate light plinth. Mine is body colour, (car is a Sport), yet I have the chrome bumper trims. A puzzle !!

that car above is my EXACT car. Those wheels though are NOT stock, though. The stock wheels are much nicer looking....not sure why they changed them. The side vents are beautiful (I get most of my compliments on the car due to the vents) and according to Jaguar they actually serve a purpose. The side vents were only put on the '06 "Portfolio Edition" of the Super V8 and did not show up again on Jag's until the year 2008.
Here are some great informational links to this limited production car (145 were made with a MSRP of $115,995). Enjoy !

Does anyone have an opinion on the 08 XJR's? I have an 01 and have loved it for years. I am finding it hard to pull the trigger on an 08 that the dealer let me take home for a day. The car may be gone tomorrow so its going to be a rough night of sleeping if I can get any at all. Any comments will be welcome.

Interestingly, the car in the OP's post and the one in your first link do not have the same rear center console....

What do you mean "power vents".....are they adjustable? Or do they move in & out or what?

As for the fender vents - personally I like them. I think mine would be snazzy with them if there was an easy retrofit...
That said, what hurts them is that one aisle of AutoZone is now full of $10 "chrome fender vents" that people stick on Mitsubishis. Cheapens the real thing. And how bout the new Infiniti QX56 - those have to be the cheesiest looking fender vents yet....

By power vents I mean the side fender vents....thats just what I have seen Jaguar refer them as, and on mine at least they are just cosmetic....and I quite like them too!
