I felt a slightly rough idle today ( a one the average driver wouldn’t feel but I’m nuts). Abdy, my mechanic, yes, the same one that left the car fell from the lift) recommends me to pour a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank. I bought a hi mileage Sea Foam can at Auto Zone ($12). Will let you know if it works.

It seems to work, idle is smooth as velvet, incredible, I will use Sea Foam in all my other rides: 2010 Ram R/T, 2012 Jeep GC (wife), 1996 Roadmaster Estate, 2001 Mercedes E-320 ( a sweet drive), 2009 Quattroporte (17k miles and a piece of junk) and 2006 Ram 1500.

Another Jaguar day. No the speedometer went crazy.
130 mph and a flat tire… while driving at 35 mph with all four tires with perfect pressure. Any advise will be welcomed.
My mechanic replaced three tire pressure sensors and reflashed the cluster or something like that. Everything works again. I’m pretty sure this cluster will strike back again. He wants $390 for the job, I think it’s a little step. TPMS alert is off now.

The speedometer kept behaving like crazy. Hot head as I am I bought a used one on ebay. Then, thanks to these great forums, I learn that there is no way to switch them without some programing. Abdi, my mechanic (yes, the very same one that left that the car fell from the lift) recommended me to call Leo’s Speedometer Inc in Meddley, FL. Eddie, the manager, is an intrument cluster master. They work for Florida Highway Patrol and many LE agencies.
So I decided to remove the cluster at Rivero’s, the interior guy, while he will be repainting some parts of the interior leather. Well, he called me telling me that he would need to disasemble the radio and many other parts to get to the cluster. Hell no, thanks to the posts of kiznarsh on his Jag to his mum thread I got the pictures of how to access the instrument cluster.
Two bolts out.
Two more on the sides of the J gate.
Pull out the center console and that’s it.
Leo’s.
Four gauge drivers replaced. The only faulty one was the speedometer. Eddie recommend me to replace all four since they would eventually fail and the price different wasn’t that much.
Came with Mr Hide to pick up Dr. Jekill.
Works wonderfully now. And kept the original mileage.

Funny thing about the leather. They couldn’t paint it. Paint keeps running and don’t attach to the leather. It seems the leather has some kind of protective treatment. I’m a shoe maker and know a lot about leather. This seems odd in a car leather. They tested the paint compressor in a Testarossa, a Range Rover and a Porsche, it worked fine but not on the Jag. So, I’ll live with some minor scratches while they figure it out.

Hi, The mechanic did what you mentioned here with my car too (my mechanic, yes, the same one that left the car fell from the lift). What you did next? One of my friends suggest me to contact with Seattle Accident Law Firm and they will make a settlement for you to recover the loss from the mechanic. What is your suggestion, I have not faced such an issue earlier, so in need of suggestions from you.

Hey MBJAG,
Enjoyed reading through your restoration thread...Jinxie is one lucky Jag!
One of the nicest things I've done for "Nanny", my '07 Jag, is a set of genuine Cocomats. These can be ordered to match your interior/exterior, and will really set things off. And, the folks at Cocomats now offer for X350, as I made a set of templates for 'em...

Well, Jinxie strikes back! I just came back from abroad and found a big spot under the car, like coolant with some dark spots. Took the car to Abdi’s and they found it was the distribution hose. To replace it you have to remove the throttle body. It seems the previous owner (who ever that was)
replaced using a non high temp hose. Lets see how much poorer I’ll be tomorrow.
