Default I Need Help With Power Steering Hose on 2004 XJR

Thank you for reading my post. I am having a SERIOUS issue with the power steering hose (from reservoir to pump) on my 2004 XJR. From what I understand (unless I've been misinformed), this hose (part number C2C6157 I'm told) is the same on all 2004 through 2009 XJ variants. However, I cannot, for the life of me, locate one despite using every resource I can think of (dealers, after market providers, online market place, etc...). Does anyone know what the deal is? I've been told that it's obsolete. Or that it's on international backorder "indefinitely". Is there a proper work around for this hose? I don't want to rig it only to have this happen again (already been down that road once already). Is there another part from another vehicle that will function properly? I can find scads of hoses for the rack to pump connection, but not this one. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Bugga.

I lookeed at my parts files just in case it does change numbers, nope.

Teryys Jag Parts are showing stock

FCPEURO.COM are also showing stock.

Thats all I found with a simple "Google" of the part number.

The 2 on Ebay have ended, so I went no further with them.

It does not look like a very complex hose, and I reckon any decent hydraulic hose mob, we have Enzed and Pirtek down here, could sort that very easily. OK, some imagination is required, but these guys down here have plenty of that.

It is only a suction/supply/ gravity feed hose, so not that special really.

Good luck.

Just about any mobile hydraulic hose repairer should be able to do it. They can fix farm/plant/industrial or transport equipment on the spot most times, that's what they do.

I got them out once in the dark on a highway miles from anywhere when I blew a ps hose. They had me on my way in 40 minutes once they found me.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X350 forum. It's a model specific question.

I see you've also asked this question in an existing thread on X350 forum.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-number-95075/

The reply there from BlackKat in post #5 advises he used a length of universal PS hose as a substitute and it works satisfactorily. As the OE is unavailable from Jaguar and all the usual parts suppliers, this appears to be the pragmatic solution.

In locating ps leak, I replaced the pictured hose with jag part c2c6157; see number.

The leak turned out to be with ps pump. Replaced and no trouble since.

Thanks -mag

Get a universal power steering hose from the local autoparts store. I got two feet of hose from autozone last year. The trick to the bend is to cut the hose longer so that it loops without a kink. Switch out the heat shield from the old hose and fill her up with mobile 1 ATF. I've been rolling like this for over a year no problems at a cost of about $6.

$39...???
I can't believe my lying eyes.
Where did you buy it for that price?

Anyway, given that your problem happened to be pump, is there any chance you still have that hose
or probably still in good condition the old one?
