Got down to 27 last night. Left for work and stopped at the gas station to fuel up. Well, the fuel door was frozen shut. Remembered that the trunk(boot) has a fuel door release lever. Well, the trunk was frozen shut too.


Hope I have enough fuel to get back to the station after work!


Funny, how you learn about new vehicles' idiosyncrasies during your drive..LOL

 

A little trick I learned from DAD, take some of the windshield wash, usually located between the pumps and "wash" the hatch opener. Has worked for me a time or two

Or pee on it...

 

I'm not sure the lady at the other pump would have been pleased...LOL

 

Then ask her to do it.

Or get a cup of hot water from the washroom.

 

One morning with X-Type back in Switzerland, the drivers door was frozen solid with ice, I unlocked the car with the remote but the door wouldn't budge.

I climbed in the passenger side & drove to work, by the time I got there it had thawed out & the door flew open as I turned into the carpark.

True story....
