For many car "clubs" its usually not required to be a member to participate in some events, rather you might just have to pay a little higher non-member price for the specific activity. I've been to several local Jaguar club events but never "joined". They're always friendly and glad to have another Jaguar. I just never joined because I have other classic cars and tend to spread my participation between make/model-specific functions and just generic car shows. I'm not likely to be at the monthly club meetings or go on the little wine tasting tours, but an annual British car show, I don't want to miss that.

Exactly right Phil. Others join JCNA for other reasons than the events. Factory tool loans discounts on new Jaguar and Land Rovers (on top of normal dealer incentives) discounts from parts suppliers and so on. Many wait for their next issue of the Jaguar Journal and many enjoy the social scene. Some folks just aren't inclined to get involved but fortunately most do. In March in San Antonio ironically enough for this post JCNA will hold its annual AGM and at the same time celebrate its 60th year of operation (64 if the parent club is included). It is the oldest Jaguar Club in the world and the JJ is the oldest Jaguar Magazine in operation. But even so for some there is nothing to attract them--

The green metallic color sounds great...mine is the factory white/ivory. This Jaguar is the car of my dreams, I'm so glad I purchased it. If there is no club in San Antonio, maybe we can start one, or it would be fun just to put the word out and meet someplace, small shopping center or park?

Perhaps February when the weather warms up?
I will be in Ireland mid-January.
