It's easy. Press the button on the left side of the steering wheel at the top (talking head symbol?). If you have voice control, you will hear a beep and the message centre will indicate that the system is listening. If you don't hear anything and you don't see anything, no voice or its broken. It is a dealer installed option (had it installed when I bought mine). Hope that helps.

But like I said in the first post, the handbook also specifically states that it will not work until the radio security code is entered. The way I read that, it leaves the door open to the possibility it is there and just not enabled.

If your car is U.S. spec it doesn't need a security code. Does your radio display AM and FM on the panel where the station number is displayed? Or does it say FM MW LW and you can't listen to AM? If it says AM FM you do not need a security code. If it says FM MW LW some moron has tampered with the region settings and couldn't figure out how to get it back to the U.S. spec.
