Jaguar XJ8/X350 2003-2009 XENON HID bulb
Hello all,
As my passenger side OSRAM HID XENON low beam bulb recently start blinked until it got retired, (while arrived over heating ???),
I try to look for a XENON HID D1S replacement model and as I compared it to driver's side HID XENON low beam bulb I found
2 different bulbs models each side:
1. Driver side: OSRAM XENARC D1S 35W 66043
2. Passenger side: OSRAM XENARC D1S 35W 66140CBI
My question is, which XENON HID bulb is the correct one in order to have the brightest daylight beam? (5500K?)
What is the difference between D1S & D2S?
Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you the part number, but if I recall correctly the OEM Osram Xenarc D1S burners have a color temperature of 4300K, which is in the pure white range. Burners with a color temp of 5500K will produce light that is noticeably more blue.
A D2S burner has an entirely different base so it won't fit.
Cheers,
Don

DS1 can be had in various color/temp ranges. The OSRAM XENARC D1S 35W 66043 are discontinued so I replaced them with a pair of OSRAM XENARC D1S 35W 66144 on a customer car.
I recommend replacing in pairs because the color/temp changes with time and it can be noticeable.
The bulbs lasted 15 years and the pair was $90 but the cost per year is reasonable.

Thanks to Don B and motorcarman,
My next question is which brand is better "Philips" or "OSRAM", (lifetime POV), and what is "Philips"'s
equivalent bulb to "OSRAM"'s XENARC OEM 4300K D1S HID/XENON 66140/66144 bulb/s?
Thanks.

You'll probably have to search for some Philips data sheets to compare with the Osram D1S specs.
By the way, there are known counterfeit Osram Xenarc D1S burners on the market, so choose your vendor carefully. Search YouTube for a video that shows how to identify the counterfeits.
Cheers,
Don
