Default Jaguar XJR X350 roof lining

Hi all,
I need to replace the roof lining on my XJR fairly badly. Due to the usual sagging and a seriously bad botch job! I had an upholsterer look at it and order the necessary but he couldn't do it eventually as it involved messing with the airbag systems, I imagine on the door pillars. Can anyone recommend a company/a specialist who would do this? I'm really not a main dealer kind of guy so would rather have it done elsewhere. I drove past the main dealer earlier and felt my bank balance drop just by glancing at their forecourt! I live in Gloucestershire.

Thanks all

Dan

What colour is your headliner? I am still trying to find a good match for oatmeal. Are there airbags in the roof, I thought they were in the seat.

Hey, um I'm unsure of the Jag colour description but it's a medium gray colour I guess. I've got black leather interior so whatever goes with that. There are airbags in the door pillars, I believe, and I think you have to remove the plastic covers over them to be able to get the roof lining out properly. I'll be totally honest I'm not sure as I've not looked properly. I can get the right material for it, I would probably just need someone to carefully remove the airbag sensors or whatever so the lining can be replaced.

Several other owners and my self have done our own, cloth from AS Trim Supplies. No airbags are messed with and its very doable over a weekend.

I think whatever is underneath the fabric, though, might also need replacing. Don't you have to mess with airbags to remove that?

The fabric is on a sort of cardboard(think eggbox) type former, and no airbags are distrubed,

Back seats out,
Front seat out if its a SWB
A,C removed
Rear Hi level brake light out
Overhead console out
Grab handles out
Then the liner will come down and out of a rear door, flies out of a long car and some carefull folding for a SWB

Several great How to's in here https://www.jaguarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32 including my own.

I've been thinking about mine for a while and found these on ebay.
Having not bought yet, I cannot comment on quality.
