Default Kerb refurb

KERB REFERB
Well, it couldn't get worse than this really - 180 degree kerb damage that really tore up the outside rim leaving metal swarf and ruined paint. But off with the wheel, file down the damage, fill with epoxy, sand down and prime. Then three layers of silver base and three layers of clear coat and it looks like new. The price of filler and paint and two hours work. Easy - now I can kerb in the future without feeling bad knowing it's an simple fix!

Nice work!
At first glance I cringed when I thought you selected the lovely orange color for your new paint .

Nice job, you don't see the damage at all.

In the past I tidied up a couple of my Sepangs, I also masked the rim as you did and was pleased with the outcome, there was nothing wrong with the main wheel area, the masking took some time but as you said a couple of hours off the car and in the sunshine gave a complete tidy job

Excellent job Bic, they look as good as new and with minimal cost. I am guessing you used the pressure paint spray cans for the base coat and clear coat. I had some light kerbing on a couple of wheels when i bought my jag earlier this year and wanted to fix them up. Fortunately I have a good friend who happens to be a professional spray painter and for the cost of a slab (a box of 24 cans for non Ausies) of beer. I decided to change the colour a bit and went for a darker shade of silver/grey, actually a Renault colour. I am very pleased with the result.
