I have noticed that frequently my nav screen does not change from
day to night brightness and vice versa also when I exit from an
underground car park into daylight it takes much longer to switch
from night to day brightness.
When I switch the stalk from auto to 'on' the brightness changes
immediately.
I can only imagine that the sunlight sensor is 'lazy' and therefore I
have a replacement on order.
BREAKING NEWS:
Just discovered that the sensor is the small one which has the flashing secrity LED!
I have now done a little test and to do this I made a cap using a plastic bottle cap
3cm dia x 1cm high and covered in black tape.
The test was:
Sat Nav screen brightness set to 'auto'
ignition 0n
Placed cap on sensor and screen went to 'night' in 3 seconds.
Removed cap from sensor and screen went to 'day' after 30 seconds!
Yes it's lazy!
BTW Hate the adverts that are appearing on our posts.
