Default Lens correction. Removing oxidation and cloudy lens. Before end after.

Before with lots of oxidation.

After. 600/800/1000/2000/3000 wet sanding followed by Meguire's M205 on an orbital polisher.

So here is the result of a quick test. I spent about an hour wet sanding and then polishing with Meguire's M205. There is some marks on the inside of the lens which will have to stay. Generally speaking though, it came up very well.

This car is my recent acquisition and is a 2006 XJ8 VDP with 2000k. I am planning to get this car back to showroom condition if I can. Stay tuned.

FWIW I recently watched a video detailing the process. However, rather than finishing with Mequirer's M205 they sprayed on 3 coats of "clear coat". This they suggested would ensure the lens would not cloud over again.I must admit that your finished lens looks as good as new. Congratulations.

Thanks Toyman!

Ckear coat would work. I have a sealant that has UV protection in it that I will apply tomorrow when I do the rest of the headlights. I am eagre to finish and seal them before they start to cloud, as I have heard happens within weeks if not days.

As an asside... A friend suggested that i might be able to remove the inner marks by removing the bulbs and going in from behind, but I am not sure I want to open that can
