Default lift rear end with pumpkin

Looking to change the fuel tank support straps.
In the past the rear end was often used.
By me as well as others to lift just about any car.
But these cars have a bit of different set up.
Using C V joints, instead of solid axils, to drive the rear wheels.
A central lifting point with one floor jack.
Has always seemed to be a better idea to me.
Just don't want to make a major screw up, by being lazy,
If anyone used this method with success please let me know
Thanks in advance

Are you asking if you can jack the car up from the diff?

Wow, two of those were actually sentences. The rest, pretty confusing.

If the question is, can you use the diff housing to jack the vehicle, I wouldn't, myself. It's certainly not listed as a jack point in the workshop manual.

Not a listed lifting point,
Thats the reason that i asked.
Would be a lot quicker, & easier using the pumpkin.
For the lifting point, with two jack stands for support.
The old heavy metal axles came in handy at times.
Thanks for the answers

It's not the same car I know, but my XE's manual specifically says DO NOT lift from the diff. I've always considered it bad practice on other cars.

DO NOT use the differential housing to raise the rear of the vehicle.

Refer to the Workshop Manual for correct method to raise the back suspension.

Here is a link to the X350 Workshop Manual:
