Default Lime Green XJ

Hi guys, I posted a thread on the x351 forums to see if I could find the owner of a lime green XJ I saw the other day. The owner doesn't seem to be a member on the forums, so I will share my opinion on the car and see what you guys think.

Basically I went out to do a few test pulls this past weekend in my 05 Xjr after some tweaks. I came across this lime green XJ, he was driving aggressively and his exhaust sounded great. It was a 5.0 n/a. Unfortunately this is the only picture I got... He had the giant leaper logo on the rear quarter panels like the XE Project 8 does, and definitely had some modification to the exhaust.

We sized each other up a few times on the highway. Personally, I am open to doing "outside of the box" modifications to my Jag. But that green paint (hopefully just a wrap) is just too much for me. Not my preference at all.

Me, personally... x350 R was my dream car and I think the x351 has deviated too much from that DNA. I test drove one once. It was very nice, but just not the same feel for me. My step son always asked me if I had the money, would I keep my R and also get a new XJ. My answer is always no (I would get an M5). And while I can appreciate individuality, I would not do a crazy color on any car I own.

Question is, would you guys ever "upgrade" to an X351 from the x350/x358? And would anyone consider doing one of these crazy color wraps? .... seems to be the new trend now. I constantly see bright orange, green, camouflage wraps on either performance or high end cars.

im one of those people thats upgraded to an X351 from a 350......definitely worth the change!

would i do a color wrap like that? not on a car like this, something more exotic for sure.

I agree with you jazzyjags, the 351 IMO is too much of a deviation from my beloved 350. It is a fine car, in its own right but not one that I would change for.
Maybe I am showing my age here but there are two green paint jobs for a Jaguar, British racing and Jaguar racing. Any other shade should be in a Vin Diesel movie.

This caused me to stop dreaming about X351: (likely unfixable sunroof popping & creaking)
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-2nd-xj-55040/
Also the roof bits are steel and rust badly, I've seen one with the roof off for repair not pretty.
And our baby is large enough. As to the color, the asphalt is OK.

I'm sure many people with an X351 will say "not mine, only some" or "only early ones". But knowing my luck on a test drive, the salesman would cough whenever we go over a bump "sorry, I've got a cough". And it's almost certainly unfixable.
