HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN Virginia
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Virginia, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
WindshieldNon-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line. Front Side WindowsMust allow more than 50% of light in. Back Side WindowsMust allow more than 35% of light in. Rear WindowMust allow more than 35% of light in.
I have no idea what Jaguar's AS-1 line is.
Note: It seems as though most of the cop cars I've push the envelope if not violate it. Their windows are really dark.

No idee either on what an AS-1 line is. In Kalifornia, (I believe) one is allowed tint to 6" below the top of the windshield.
