Don't take it too personal. We all just wanted to give you an *** whooping!
By the way, I am confused. Do you still have a Jag?

I'm glad you are OK, I was in a wreck last June in my Mustang. I wish I had airbags because the seat belt did a number on my shoulder. I was driving (the speed limit) on a country road and an oncoming vehicle decided to race a left turn. We collided head on and I got a nice ambulance ride. The other driver was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.

ask the insurance company how much it will cost to buy the car back. you could double your money by holding title when the car auctions. That is exactly what the insurance company will do... they'll like say your car is worth 2k and it will auction for 5k. Assuming you have a lean, the challenge is you must pony up the cash to free the lean before the insurance pays the claim. Good luck. What year and how many miles are on the car?

Not so with my Farmers Experience

Also do not forget , it does not matter who is holding the title with regard to the fact from that time on it will always be branded.

On a totaled Elise they offered me the car at what they expected to get at auction, they arrived at this figure by getting pre-auction bids from certain buyers. Their actual auction sold price was within 10 % of that figure.

It's worth exploring his options and getting a pulse on the market. The delta gain could pay his insurance premiums for the next year...
or, the delta will cover part of the casualty companies loss. There will likely be a larger delta than 10%.
