Default Looking for door seal on a 2004 x350

I am having an issue locating a door seal for a 2004 x350. It is the drivers door seal that attaches to the body not the door. It looks like it comes with some interior trim attached so it needs to be the dove/granite color. I ordered one seal online but when it arrived it was the wrong seal so I really am stuck and can't seem to find one anywhere. I haven't even been able to track down a part number.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks
Tim

They are available from Jaguar but price is rediculous.

I assume you have damage about half way up door opening so swap seal onto passenger side then damage ends up in footwell area and much less visible.

Install pass. side onto driver's side.

Joints in seal still end up under kick plates and are invisible.

Simples!

Cost-$zero

okay thanks, I had no idea that the two sides were the same part, although, the drivers door seal is pretty badly damaged in a couple of different places so I'm not sure how easy it would be to hide.

cheers

It looks like a Dove interior should have Charcoal trim and the part number for a door seal for a 2004 for that would be C2C40006LEG.

That's great thanks a lot.

My Vin number ends in G32474 so I take it that the seal number for my car is C2C25568LEG. Is this correct as I want to make sure I am ordering the right one this time?

Thanks for the great info.

cheers
Tim

The circular arrows next to your part number means that it has been superseded so the correct part number from a dealer would be C2C40006LEG. If you do find C2C25568LEG that will fit as well though.

I actually swapped them over like you suggested and it worked out pretty well. There were two damaged areas, I managed to super glue one that ended up not too bad, and the other ended up by the hinges in the door. I just tidied them up a bit with scissors and it looks pretty good.

thanks a lot, as a new seal is over $200 so I don' thing I will bother with a new one any more.

Glad to be of help.

The other thing I did was to cut a piece of foam about 0.5 inch square and 4 inch long,

wrap it in black electrical tape and insert the ends in the rubber 'tube' at each end of the

damaged area then crush it by closing the door.

You can tell I am not working and have the time to fiddle!

Default X350 Door Apature Seal

Removed the kick plate with straight edge screw driver.
Pulled off the damaged seal.
Replaced the seal with damage under the kick plate.
Joint ends up near the door hinge.
Replaced kick plate = job done 5 minutes.

Sniper man,
I was just noticing the damage to the gasket on my 07. Does the Kick plate just pry up? Is the seal just a pressed fit?

Keep your eyes peeled on ebay. I found mine there for $35. I also bought one for the rear. I have the Super V8 and the rear is a bit longer than the front. Point here is you can use the rear part on the front if you can only locate the one for the rear door. You will need to cut it but the end is spliced under the sill plate anyway. My comments apply to the LWB only. Rears can be used on the front but not visa versa. Anyone know about the SWB fitment?
