Exclamation Loud humming sound coming from the rear?

Hey guys, long time no speak! Ihave a 2008 Vanden Plas LHD and she is a beautiful car. Only problem I am currently having is that when I drive the car faster than 30 miles an hour, I begin to hear a loud humming coming from what I thought was the front wheel bearings. I had the entire wheel hub changed and even got 4 brand new tires and the sound continues! Any ideas? Should I change the rear hubs as well? Can I just have the bearings changed as the hub assembly is very expensive for the rear! Thanks guys!

Yes you can press out the rear bearings to replace.

You may also consider that it is a driveshaft bearing. I had a bearing noise in my 2001 XKR which I couldn't identify which wheel it was coming from. After taking it to my mechanic turned out it was the driveshaft bearing which is not repairable so it was replaced with a used driveshaft.

I thought the same about the driveshaft but the noise disappears when i turn towards the left and becomes loud going straight and even louder when i turn right. WHat do you think?

Elevate the rear, and place on stands. Remove tires, and place a couple of acorn nuts to hold the rotor against the hub. Start engine and place in 2nd. Use a stethoscope or long screwdriver and place it over the rear bearing housing. If it is the bearings, you'll hear it. Harbor Freight has stethoscopes for $4

I experienced that effect in a Merc 190 I had fifteen years ago. It was a rear wheel bearing.

Wheel bearing, as box said put on stands and run it you may hear the noisy bearing the reason you hear the noise when cornering is that your loading the bearing the trouble is each bearing has a inner and outer . You could ask someone to sit in the back and listen to see if they can hear the noise more when they are sitting behind you or behind the passenger seat this may help to narrow it down to a side

Had exactly the same on my XJR just after I bought it. I was absolutely convinced it was a either a wheel or driveshaft bearing, but it turned out to be one of the exhaust mounts.

When they start making that type of noise you should be able to jack the heel off the ground and pull on front of wheel while pushing on rear. There will be a slight motion there - there should not be any. Do top and bottom pulls also and the motion should also be there. If only front and rear it could be the track rod.
