Default Low Tire pressure light is on

Hello, i have as 2006 XJ8L and the left front tire pressure sensor died.. and the light came on and the message center told me it was the left front tire. So i bought an O.E.M. sender and had it installed today. when they backed the car out and i got in. I noticed that message center NOW said that the right front tire was low. I figured it was a glitch and drove the car for about an hour. the message center went off, but the warning light stayed on. how do i check that?
Should i just replace the right front and both rear sensors? or just the right front? Thank you for any help you can offer.. i do not work on my car, but if i can at least talk with the mechanic with some knowledge he won't think just because i am a woman i am stupid..

Short answer is no.

Long answer is to modify the config file (customization) to allow TPMS to be deactivated via SDD.

Do i have to use O.E.M. Tire pressure pressure sensors? Can i use after market sensors in the wheels? I know they are 315hz for the states. Is there another brand or manufacturer that will work? 2006 XJ8L 4.6 V8

I haven't had to change out any TPMS on my Jags but have read on several forums (with regard to other vehicles) that OEM is best, sort of like O2 sensors. I don't have proof and don't know why so take my comments with a grain of salt.

A little trick that may resolve the problem is to over-inflate the tire a bit (additional 4-5 lbs) and see if the light turns off. If it does, let a wee bit of air out each day back to proper inflation.

I have done this on my Jaguar(s), and it has worked twice. Light went out and stayed out. I think the weather change effected them.

I tried the higher air pressure trick and it did nothing. i also disconnected the battery and that did nothing either. the car is 10 years old, so i am thinking the sensors are going all bad.. the only new ones are the spare tire and the left front.. could the light be on because the other three are not working or sending as signal? thank you all for your help, please keep me in mind, i hate that light. hahahahaah

I believe that TPMS sensors have internal (non-replaceble ) batteries. When one gives up it means a new sensor.

Edit: yep, see this

I just tried the low air pressure (15 lb's) pressure trick and That did not work either. I saw a comment on this forum about which VDO sensors do and do not work. i cannot find it. does anyone remember anything about that?? the o.e.m. sensors are crazy expensive and there a a dozen other companies making them, they all can't be bad.. HELP!!! Thank you for your help so far.. i hope we can fix this., I love the car but this is very annoying.

Default Try this first.

I recently had surgery so a bit hopped up on goofballs. try following this thread before you replace. I think I said to inflate earlier.

Low tire light still on, no warning in message center as to which tire is low. All tires are at factory correct pressure. Have tired the high and Low pressure tricks, They did not work and the stupid light is still on.. Other than grit my teeth and ignore it, what else can be done?............ HELP!!!

I don't have TPMS so I'm shooting in the dark here. I've read the factory TPMS are definately better. Your car should learn to read the new ones, but if it has thrown a fault it sounds like the dealer may need to clear it. I also found one member's TPMS problem was a loose reader under a wheel well cover. I believe his problem may have been a TPMS fault message though, not a tire too low message.

Did you check the spare tire pressure? It should show up as spare tire on your dash but it sounds like your system is kinda wiggy, too.
