Lower windshield cover removal

So I have started work on getting my super charger out and am at the stage where I am trying to remove the lower windshield/ wiper motor plastic shield.
It has taken me a long time just to get the wiper arms off! One arm with a puller and the other with a wedge breaker hammered underneath followed by some sharp blows on the spindle (with a nut on). This after soaking in blaster fluid.
I have removed all of the "grommets" and the cover is loose except it seems almost glued on the windscreen edge? Is there some trick to this?
Every where I have read people nonchalantly state "now remove the wiper motor shield" or whatever it is called.

You have to pull it off there is a lip at the bottom of the windscreen that it fits into start one side you can also give it a little squirt of lube be careful of the windscreen it feels like it's going to break there are some slots in the panel be careful this is where mine broke I pulled mine out towards the engine and up slightly

I found it useful to start at one end and after folding the little rubberrised flap out the way you can see the way the cowl panel clips into the trim under the windscreen. It's a friction fit with a little lip on the end wedged into a channel so it pushes in easily but it hard to remove (a bit like a fir tree clip with only one branch). Once it is partially out the rest pops out very easily by wedging your hand between it and the glass and lifting it vertically off. That's the key - if it is pulled to the side the lip will catch and it will be much harder.

Ok thank you all for the information.
Have been able to work so far with simply lifting up the front edge of the shield. Will see if I can continue that way today.
I take my time and walk away when I get stuck on something. My rebuilt supercharger will be arriving sometime this week.
I was amazed to see my super charger rotors in excellent condition with no peeling at all of the ablative coating unlike the one I bought to be rebuilt.
Just got back from a trip to Bexhill. So many Jaguar cars but only saw 2 XJRs like mine.
