Have you followed any of the advice given to you? I'm confused. It appears that you've been told to try a new battery and haven't tried it. You were told to check the grounds. Neither of these are tough to do. If the battery doesn't fix the problem you can return it. If there is nothing wrong with the ground clean it really well and put it back as a good preventative. I get that the battery is testing as good but in the little time I've spent researching these cars I have come to realize that anything less than a perfect battery can throw things into an uproar. Besides that you live in a cold climate which can make a battery weaker.

Also, a heat gun under your hood won't help you in any way that I can think of. Unless you are looking for melted plastics. In which case it's a great idea.

When I had the electrical issue, my battery was fully charged and gave good voltage. But what was lacking was CCA at 31% if I remember. It was the battery cranking amps that was at fault.

I purchased a new battery for $156 at Autozone and all was good.

I've heard similar a few times in my research. I am by no means an expert but I do believe when the people who have been through this give advice (especially advice that you asked for) you should follow it before attempting random solutions. Just one mans humble opinion.

Yep it's all good there if u let the car sit for a bit and then try to start with your foot on the gas it will turn over and rev for about 3 seconds and then shut off.

I don't know what else to do so I guess I'm going to just have it towed to the mechanic again tomorrow.

Just talked to my mechanic today and he said the exhaust was frozen. Should be thawed out and ready to go Wednesday.

Did the mechanic explain exactly what frozen exhaust means? Was the tail pipe plugged by snow and ice? Did condensation build up and freeze in a low point of the exhaust system? Is the car parked nose down hill? For example. Did you back up into a snow drift before parking the car? Remember the old potato in the exhaust pipe trick? Not trying to be funny, just very curious.

DSC not available, Engine system fault, parking brake CAN happen with a battery that has gone bad, but if you have that sequence it more often occurs with the TPS (Throttle position sensor) on early cars throttle bodies. The TPS can be changed out if you can find one, but an be difficult to calibrate after replacing. It sounds like you may have a failed TPS and replacing the throttle body itself it the most common fix, if you could find a rebuilt unit. You should obviously try to verify this first as a Throttle body won't be cheap - Rebuilt or used via ebay are some possible ways to go.

Good luck and let us know how you are making out. There are much smarter folks than me on the forum.
