Which Mass Air Flow Sensor for 2005 x350
A couple months ago, I purchased a 2005 Vanden Plas with 102,000 miles. Because of its age and mileage, I replaced all of the filters, fluids, coils, and plugs. She is running smooth with a steady idle. No DTC codes.
As part of this update, I want to replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I ordered a Delphi AF10135 (e.g., Rockauto has it), which was listed as a good match. However, once installed, the engine stalled after one second, every time.
I reinstalled the old MAFS and the engine had no problem. The old one is a Denso MB197400-3021. I can find that part number also associated with my car (and it does work).
I’d like a recommendation as to what MAFS to use. Any thoughts on why the Delphi failed?
Thank you for your suggestions.

Thanks. There are quite a few "cheap" versions of the Denso model...and I'm not sure whether spending more gets you more. I found two posts that when it comes to MAF "buy the cheapest" is viewed as fine.
I had forgotten to mention that my serial number is G45996 ~ that may be consequential.

I do not remember whether the one I bought was the cheapest, but as most of the electronics seem to come from Denso, I stuck to that brand.
I could go and check the part number of it, but then I do not know whether Jaguar used the same item on both supercharged and n/a cars.
Best regards,
Thomas

I thought I should wrap up this thread by saying what I did and the consequence. I bought a cheap never-heard-of-brand Mass Air Flow sensor that had one of the correct part numbers on it (literally, the number is on the plastic mold) 1X4312B579-AB for $30 from Amazon. The new unit caused a stutter upon start-up and I had to give the engine a bit of accelarator pedal to keep things running. What I figured was the data the new MAF sensor was sending to the computers were significantly different than the data which created the existing tables ~ in other words, the ECU needed time to find its idle. After 5 minutes of running the engine was purring at a steady 660 RPM. No DTCs. If the sensor burps at some point I'll follow-up this note.
