Mic not working
#21
I haven't managed to get around this as I thought I could find the exact same unit to mount rather than going through all the drilling etc.
Anyway remounted my old faulty roof console unit (only fault is reading lights), did a hard reset for about 5 seconds, now a completely new fault has occurred the seat belt warning noise no longer works.
The car no longer makes that bell noise because a front passenger is not wearing a seat belt, but I still get a red seat belt sign on the dashboard, so it is aware people are sat in the front seats.
Are you meant to install/remove such hardware with the battery disconnected? It's not a huge deal to me if I damaged it as I need to replace the unit anyway + the bell is damn annoying anyhow.

Ummmm, I don't think the seatbelt chime is produced from the roof console
If your headliner has ever been replaced, perhaps the microphone wiring was damaged from the roof console back to the telephone module. I would check for continuity at the mic connector to tele module first. That will tell you ALOT.

I haven't actually managed to sort either of these out. Mainly because I can't find a roof console with the right codes on the back. On mine there are the following.
Shel: FAB/I
Exts: PA
Ints: PLAIN
PCB: UC (I understand this one refers to colour.)
Other than the colour code I have no idea what they mean.
..and of course X350 and the correct sensor code, mine ends with AF...
I have found one that is not the right colour which I can deal with but the Exts code is ST. Whatever that means, anyone any ideas?
I'd like to get it right first time rather than buying something that doesn't work.
Once that is done I'll try and go about sorting the mic out..
