Default Mirror Motor

The side mirror motor on my XJ8 broke. It's a memory type.

I have a replacement motor assembly that is not a memory type.

The connections for these two types are completely different. I'm considering isolating the 3 wires I need out of the 8 that are there, and just hooking up the non memory unit.

Question is - Will it work? Or will the lack of LIN Bus feedback screw everything up?

I did not even know they offered some mirrors without the memory feature fro the X350. But considering how discrete specific features and packages were, that is no surprise.

Hey, not to come and kick up your sandbox, but I have spare mirrors from my 05 XJ8L. I removed them because they had some chrome caps that I did not like, and I think the right/ passenger side one had a broken linkage that wouldn't allow the glass to turn down/ up. The left one is good, just has a broken glass. Would you like it?

Yeah that would be great, thanks. Mine is the left one (driver) that is giving me the problem.
