Default Missing connector on air box?

I was looking around my engine bay before starting my car which is in storage and noticed I may be missing a connector on my air box. The car has sat for a while and was serviced last summer. Am I actually missing it?

Please see pictures!
Thanks

Hi JaguarXKR,

I assume the photos are of your '05 VDP. I believe that connector is for the solenoid that opens the flap on the forward side of the air box to allow more airflow at higher rpm. It's possible your flap was either removed or propped open and the solenoid connector intentionally disconnected. You can check inside the air filter housing to see if the flap is still present or is propped open. It's also possible that the flap is only implemented on supercharged cars - perhaps another member will know. Here's a photo of the flap shown from the inside of the air filter housing:

Thank you Don B!

That is interesting that some cars have that! I am just making sure, since I have had mouse problems and wanted to make sure they did not chew through anything.

Thanks for your input!
