Mr David kidd
can you help,
I have a 2005 XJR great car but I have an engine warning light that lights up intermittently and has done for a few years main dealer and local garage not quite able to track it down. It goes away for a few days and comes back. seems to come on when coasting or backing off the throttle, sometimes get a little jolt as it changes down. The code fault points to the induction system. Annoyingly it tends to go off if my wife drives it and on when I use it, but I treat it nicely !

Welcome to the forum David,
I've moved your question from Jaguar Engines & transmissions to X350 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model and members here with the same model will be able to help.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Hi David,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
In order to be of any help at all, we're going to have to know the exact diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that is being flagged. This will probably be a four-digit number preceded by a letter, such as P0174. Without knowing the exact code or codes, we can only guess at possible causes, and guessing is what the On Board Diagnostic system was designed to reduce or eliminate.
Cheers,
Don
