Default Mud Flaps or Splash Guards

I have a 2006 VDP, white. It gets real dirty from water and tar splashing up from the road. I'd like to put some mud flaps on. Does anyone have experience with this? The only ones I find, including those from the dealer, are black rubber. Does it ruin the look of the car? I don't want to look like a truck or SUV! Or are they small and discreet enough to not be real noticeable? Also, are they hard to install? Are there pre-drilled holes, or do I need to drill the fender? Do you need to remove the tires to install?

Any help from someone with mid flaps would be appreciated!!

knightcap,

I just had them installed.... they do help alot, theirs alot less splash up on the rear fenders, and on the front doors where I would normally get splash up. They dont ruin the look of the car at all they really blend in. Go for them!

Do you have any pix? What color is your car -- I was concerned about black mud flaps on a white car. Thanks!

knightcap,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you with the pictures, my car was at the dealer having the entire sunroof assembly replaced!

Also, sorry about the quality I took the pictures on my cellphone

Thanks for the pix. They look like they match the body color. Did the jag dealer install these, or someone else? Do you remember how much for the parts, and how much for the install?

knightcap,

I installed the front set myself, but to do the rear set the dealer charged me $120 I think? I got them on ebay for $53 each set. Here is the link to the store on ebay that I got them from

No offense to you guys but mudflaps are designed for semi trucks and look redneck lol, why not just slow down for the puddle or go around it?

I dont have any on my cars and they never get any mud, water, or any other matter on them except when it rains and then of course it must be washed right after anyways

I'm not impressed with the price though. $63 including shipping, FFS they're only $70 at the dealer (ok you have to add tax).

I know the thread is old, but thought it the best place to add updated availability of plastic mud flaps at a decent price of $39.

I installed the cheap type (Auto-Zone) on my VDP, I don,t care about looks, just want mud protection.

The mud flaps actually blend in with the tires.
