That is a very good point you made Oldmot, about carbed. engines compared to fuel injected ones. I had never really considered this before, about how fuel injected engines will keep the oil cleaner longer, if they are running properly. It makes sense to me, although it seems some engine designs do a better job than others in keeping the oil cleaner longer. Here is an interesting video link that relates to this.

Let's not forget the oil filter as it has primary role in all of this as well.

Yes Moses, the oil filter plays a major role. My car came with a Jaguar # 4H23-6714-BA oil filter. It looks a little smaller than the standard size. I can't wait to tear into this one and see how it was made, compared to the standard. When I get my car nose job done I will try to find a better one for about one third the cost. What filters have you guys had good luck with? Here is a video of how oil filters are made, it has some good shots of the inside, but fails to cover the oil bypass spring.

[align=left]Oldmot, It looks like you were right about using synthetic motor oil vs a synthetic blend in these high performance engines.

I think most would agree the massive motor oil deposits in the video were most likely caused by the motor oil breaking down.
I priced Castrol SYNTEC compared to my synthetic blend I had used for years and the SYNTEC is only about twelve Dollars more expensive on a seven quart oil change.

Here is a Castrol SYNTEC data sheet.
