My bleeding car...what fluid is this?
I found this on the floor of the garage. Does this fluid belong to the Jaguar (2008 XJR)? If so from where? I just had the brakes done and hoses for the radiator in between the engine, they removed the top to get to these little hoses. It's orange and slippery when you move it between your fingers
Thanks ahead of time.

Looking at the dried ring around it, I would go with coolant If it's very viscous, it could be stock tranny fluid but the tranny fluid would not likely evaporate so quickly. 3rd choice is rusty water.

Have a look around the engine compartment and see if you can see small globules of coolant and also orange staining where it has dried on hot pipe and parts. It is better to do this at night with a torch as then the little globules of coolant reflect the torch light and you'll see them, because your eyes are adapted to the dark. My money is on the coolant header tank bleed pipe nipple or maybe a crack at a connection to a water rail. Of course it could be the water pump seal too.
Best not to ignore this for long, it won't get any better. In my case, when the chief technician at my local indie saw my (very small) leak, I was told to leave the car with them as the pipe connection could let go at any time, and I'd lose all the coolant and maybe the engine. Sure enough, it let go when they were dismantling to replace the water rail.
