My new Portfolio 2005

Hi everybody,
Since a couple of weeks, I am the happy owner of a Super V8 Portfolio 2005, 44.000km, black cherry, mint condition.
Very rare car on this side of the pond (only a few tens in Europe, this one is the first ever seen by the Jag importer in Belgium)!
Actually it was first sold to a Qatari crown prince before being exported to Germany, Nederlands and then here in Belgium.
But the registration process was/is a mess because such a car was not delivered with an "identification tag", which should be sticked somewhere on the body when there is no European Certificate of Conformity.
I was lucky enough to pass through the registration process on a temporary basis because I am employed by an international institution.
But I will not escape the painful process of a so-called "agreement" to be obtained by the Regional authorities once a specific examination of the car is completed...
At least I can now enjoy the ride and this gorgeous car for a while

Congratulations! You have got your hands on a very rare car. If you need more information about it, I got some details from the JDHT a while back.
You should get in touch with Jag in the UK about the missing ID label, they should also be able to provide you with a Cert. Of Conformance, since the car is ROW spec, not NAS.
The contact number I have for them (UK number) is 08705 000500, give them a call and explain that your car is missing the build sticker, if you provide evidence of ownership and the existence of the car, they should be able to send you a new sticker with the Cert. of Conformance together.
There is a form you have to fill out "Application for a Vehicle Certification as Required by Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act of Great Britain - National Type Approval"
When I did it for my XJR it cost £100 for the Certficate of Conformity which included the Date of Build Certificate as well. No idea what the ID label will cost, not cheap I imagine...
Good luck.

Jeez, many thanks Cambo, that tip is invaluable!
I will contact them.
And I gladly welcome any info or links to get it.
I know the car is very rare.
Actually I was looking for one since years but none was showing up here in Europe.
Most of them (145) were sold in the US and only very few in Europe.
When I spotted this one, I called immediately, drove the next day to see it, was lucky to find a car exquisitely maintained and bought it immediately.
Cheers

Give them a call, fingers crossed you will get the result you need.
In regards to the cars themselves;
The 2006MY X350 Super V8 Portfolio got a few features not available in other cars;
400W Dolby Surround Sound system with 15 speakers
Conker coloured leather
Alcantara headlining
Polished alloy shifter surround
Black Walnut Veneer (but this could be specified on other cars for $$$$)
Cherry Black paint (Winter Gold also an option, but most were done in black)
Huge polished exhaust finishers
Machined alloy power vents in the front wings
Polished 20" Callisto wheels
The other options fitted (full electric split rear seat, rear screens, DVD, etc) were available in the standard Super V8's, on request.
Most if not all the specific Portfolio parts are no longer available to purchase as spares from Jaguar. The tailpipes, the power vents, the gearshift surround, all pretty much irreplaceable now.
A few vehicles have been wrecked, and the special parts sold off (my count is that 5x Portfolios have been written off entirely, and at least one was totalled but "re-born", you will find it here on the forum). A few forum members have picked up bits & pieces off the wrecked cars, like the vents & the gear surround.
A total of 265x 2006MY LWB X350 Super V8 Portfolio's were produced for delivery worldwide, with a split like this;
145x to USA
10x to Canada
40x to Japan
10x to Switzerland (badged as Concept Eight)
8x to Australia
Rest to UK, Russia, Middle East & EU (52x cars)
The last X350 that was produced at the Browns Lane plant before production shifted to Castle Bromwich was also an X350 Super V8 Portfolio, a black RHD model, and now resides in the Jaguar Daimler Heratige Trust collection. Jaguar Heritage. Other Cars in The Collection ....
The cars outside of the US are very rare and it's not often you see them on the market. I have only seen 3x of the Swiss "Concept Eights", around 5x cars in Europe (in Holland, Germany & Russia), none in the UK apart from the JDHT one, a single one in Australia, and a handfull of the Japanese cars that have been sold into New Zealand as grey-imports. Every now & then one of the Japanese ones shows up at auction in Japan too.
There are about 15-20x members of JaguarForums who have Super V8 Portfolios. I was keeping track of them, but I can't find the list of names right now.
There is always at least one for sale in the US somewhere.
There were other X350 Portfolio models too, but these did not make it to North America.
X350 XJR Portfolio; SWB, with the vents/pipes/etc but did not get the 400W sound system, or the back seat extras. Only sold in black with ivory or cream interior in the UK/EU. 5x were built for Australia in black with charcoal interior. Don't have the exact build numbers, but it was mentioned in press releases that 100x were built for the UK, not sure how many sold elsewhere in Europe, but it would also be a low number. Offered for sale in 2006/2007 in UK/EU & Australia.
X350 TDVi Portfolio; exact same as the XJR Portfolio but with the 2.7L diesel engine. A bit rarer, probably 30x or so built. Offered 2007 in the UK only as far as I can tell.
The XJR Portfolio's have been seen in the UK, Russia, Germany, & the Benelux countries, but not in Switzerland or France. An XJR Portfolio with the black interior came up for sale in Sydney last year. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rtfolio-91453/
The TDVi's are pretty much only in the UK, i've seen 3 or 4 online.
Before I bought my XJR I was trying to find a RHD Super V8 Portfolio in the UK, to buy and take back to Australia when we moved. I simply could not find one for sale in the UK, and I looked for several months.
I contacted the JDHT asking them for help, to try and find out how many RHD models were sold in the UK, and if they knew anyone who was selling, they gave me those numbers of which cars went where.
In the end I bought a regular XJR with the Cranberry interior, as this was also a "rare" vehicle that I could actually find, but certainly not as rare or desirable as the Super V8 Portfolio.
Ironically, not long after we moved to Australia, a LWB Super V8 and a SWB XJR Portfolio were for sale in Sydney....
There is also the X358 Super V8 Portfolio, also very rare. The X358 versions had Navy Blue interiors with Ivory trim, or Ivory with Navy trim. The dash and steering wheel was Navy blue. They were only built as 5-seaters, not 4-seaters like the X350. Externally the only difference was the vents, made of Aluminium instead of plastic like the regular X358's. I don't have the production numbers, but it would be less than 100 units worldwide. These were the only cars with a blue interior, which is pretty quirky...

Called the guy in UK.
Very helpful.
He should send me forms to be completed for the COC and Date of Build Certificate.
The issue of the ID tag is still unclear and will have to be sorted out.
Very exhaustive info, Cambo, pity you did not grasp one at the time.
Mine is with all the features described.
It was delivered new in Sept 2005 but it's a 2006 MY.
I was very lucky indeed.
Btw, while I saw none for sale during two years, another one was proposed the week after in Switzerland.
I don't know how it ended up...

Interesting to see this thread. My wife and I went to test drive an XKR today which leaked hydralic fluid from the convertible top all over me. Ugh. On the way out she absolutely fell in love with a 2006 Super V8 Portfolio, and I have to say that I was impressed as well. Beautiful car, obviously special.
They are asking $29K and it has 80,000 miles. Interestingly enough that appears to be well below blue book, but still, I'm having issues with the high mileage.
I'm torn, of course i would have it checked, but obviously some things will go undetected. How well have this cars stood up to the test of time?

I got my O6 Super V8 last year to replace my 03 STR.
Wow.
It's rare ,but how rare I did not know at the time. Didn't believe the Dealer. But with only 33k mi &1 owner, bought it on the spot with 4 yr extended warranty from the Jag Dealer in Mission Viejo Calif USA.
Carfax reported delivered to dealer in 2006 not sold for first time until 2007.
VINs last #s = TH 00099. Bet it was a show display model due to the early Vin #.

Congrats, another Portfolio owner here on the forum, I bet there's more too.
About your VIN, it doesn't work quite like that, you actually have one of the later ones.
2006MY started with G49701
2006.25MY started with H00332 (non-US, diesels and Daimlers)
2006.5MY started with H06679
2007MY started with H11537
The VIN's in the 2006MY moved from G5xxxx to H00xxx but it was not related to any changes to the cars, I'm not sure why exactly but there does not seem to be any particular reason. Also unclear what the last G5xxxx vin was before the change to H... EDIT, now I realise it is because of production moving from Browns Lane to Castle Bromwich, the last X350 from Browns Lane was G50786.
One of the "Concept Eight" Portfolio's in Switzerland that i checked out was vin G50752, so earlier than yours.
The LWB Portfolio's were 2006MY, the SWB XJR/TDVi were 2007MY, for example the one here in Australia with the black interior is H16410, that's well into the 2007MY run. The 2006.25MY and 2006.5MY did not have Portfolio's.
EDIT
Wow, the one I looked at in Geneva is still for sale JAGUAR XJ Concept 8, Occasion, Benzin, 49'700 km, CHF 42'500.- - AutoScout24
And there is a different one for sale now in Thurgau JAGUAR XJ Concept 8, Occasion, Benzin, 32'000 km, CHF 41'000.- - AutoScout24

Wow, G50757, that's only a few numbers away from the one in Geneva.
EDIT
I just realised the reason for the VIN change. The last X350 ever produced at Browns lane was the Portfolio in the JDHT collection http://www.jaguarheritage.com/t/othercars_047 it is G50786, the change to H vins would be when production shifted to Castle Bromwich.

I am curious to know the features and if there were the standard attributes of the LWB (power vents, rear seats separation, specific wood, etc.)
Could you show pics?
