Though, let's be honest, neither the XF or the new XJ look right with a Leaper...Callum knows people are still nostalgic for it though, that's why it's on the back now.

a4500435, I haven't forgotten you, promise. The elm v1.5 is in the glovebox of my xk8, and its at the mechanic having a transmission rebuild done on it. I'll get it back next week. Sorry for the delay.
@ 04XJwpg...window tint?? Aw man, I'm trying to stay away from that on this car. We'll see how rough it gets next summer and make the call then.

Love the rims, I was thinking of fitting some XK rims the same as my wife's sometime next year but I do like the original rims I have but would of liked 9.5 on the back to make them truly staggered to fill the rear arch better, I could fit spacers to the back but I remember spaces in the 80's that where not good so am put off that idea.

if you want good quality spacers, XKracer (in the UK) makes his own for his custom XK jobs he does. He's got a great reputation around here, and you'll find him in the XK8-XKR subforums mainly (x100). There is a thread in the x350 area that shows an XJ with the staggered wheels from an XK, I didn't like the obvious difference, so stuck with 8.5s.
What about just doing a slight drop of the air suspension instead? That'll fill some gaps, and you can still rotate your tires...where if they're staggered, you won't be able to.

I took the advice from our resident forum detailer (Innovative Detailing) and purchased a Porter Cable 7424XP dual-action buffer, then I use a clay bar to prep, Meguairs Ultra-cut Compound for heavy swirls or neglected paint jobs (like mine), Ultra fnishing compound for light scratches/swirls or to follow up an Ultra-cut, if needed. Then I use Zaino Z-2 polish, and top it off with Z-CS Clear Seal, a synthetic sealant that you don't have to buff off.

I've posted my For Sale ad in the classified section for the original chrome wheels and the grille. ****** 'em up if you want them! I think the pricing is very fair on each.

a4500435, v1.5 elm works fine with the 05 XJ. Here's the unit I purchased.

If nobody buys the Arden's I have in the meantime then they'll be on the car next spring. It's a staggered setup with 9" front & 10" on the rear
There is one X350 in the UK that's running 285's on factory 9" rims on the back, certainly makes a difference, I'll be going for 295's with the Ardens...should fill the wheel arches....
